Chart My Progress!

Okay the New Year has begun…have you set some short and long term weight loss goals for yourself?

Here are mine:

Long term goal:  Back to pre-pregnancy size 6 by May 10, 2010

Short term goal:  Wear size 10 jeans by the end of January

How will I lose the weight:  Exercise for 30 minutes 6 days a week, portion control, limit sugar

Current weight:  149 lbs.

Remember a goal is a dream with a plan.  You can’t just think about what you want;  you have to DO something about it.

I have been doing really well with my exercise lately.  I actually feel so much better – more energy and in a better mood – when I exercise.  I usually do it in the morning, a 20 minute workout DVD (Jillian’s 30 Day Shred is my DVD of choice), and my kids often join me watch.

I’ll be reporting my progress on the blog and I’d love to hear about your short and long term goals too.  We can keep each other encouraged and accountable!

Here’s to not wearing elastic waist pants in the New Year (yes, I’m wearing them right now).

P.S.  I don’t want you think I’m perfect and will confess…I had more than one piece of the most delicious bundt cake yesterday at my parents (think a Cinnabon cinnamon roll upgraded to Nordstrom style cake).  My pennance?  Push ups before bed.

It’s Not too Late – Start Losing Weight January 1st!

Okay, you’ve eaten your Christmas dinner, maybe more pie than you should have, and your pants are feeling (super) tight.

It’s time to get it together in January.  I’d love to help you for 31 days straight to get in the right frame of mind for losing weight and adopting a healthier lifestyle.

After all, most Americans will make a New Years resolution to eat healthy and exercise in 2010, but how many will actually succeed?

Do you want to be among the success stories?

If so, I know you’ll love my audio course Losing Weight After Baby: 31 Days to a New You.  Just listen 5 minutes a day in the month of January to get the results you want.  Learn more now.

31 Days to a New Me!

It’s appropriate that my blogoversary is coming up.   After all, I’m starting out all over again with baby pounds to lose.  This process of losing weight after baby is what got me started blogging in the first place!

So I figure it is very appropriate to listen to my own stuff.  Starting today, I’m subscribing to my own audio course, Losing Weight After Baby: 31 Days to a New You.  Nothing like your own words to convict and convince you!

One of the action steps today is to fill in the blanks:

I will be back to _________ pounds by ________ (date).   (I suggest putting your pre-pregnancy weight here)

Let’s work together moms & have a great December to help us get towards that goal!  I think if you can maintain your weight during a cookie crazed, sugar coated Christmas season, you’ve achieved success.  And if you can lose a pound or two, even better!

Podcast listener lost 60 pounds!

This was the highlight of my day…I received a great email from a Losing Weight After Baby podcast listener who wrote about her miscarriage and unhappiness about her weight.  She was at the highest weight of her life.  Understanding her need for change and encouragement, she sought out tools to help her and found my Losing Weight After Baby podcast.  She began with mini-goals.  Her the big audacious goal was to lose 50 pounds.  She knew this would help her be healthier in the future especially because she wanted to get pregnant again.

Guess what?  She did it!  On the day her baby would have been due if she had not miscarried, she had achieved her goal and lost not 50 pounds – but 60 pounds!

And now she’s pregnant!

She wrote, “You had practical advice and were a positive influence in my decision to get physically active.   Thank you Arlene!”

You are so welcome…your email made my day.

Let’s all be encouraged that we can set mini-goals with a long-term goal in mind, just like this podcast listener!
