Day 10 – What to Say When You Talk to Yourself

funny-kid-on-phone-135You know how to talk to your baby, your friends, your spouse…but do you know how to talk to yourself?

I’m not talking about looking in the mirror and having long conversations so that your husband thinks you’re psycho.  I’m talking about the thoughts that are running through your head all day long.

  • “I look fat in this.”
  • “I’m so tired.”
  • “It’s too hard to change.”
  • “Diets don’t work.”

Do you recognize any of these voices? 

When you’re losing weight, it’s important to change your inner self talk into positive words of affirmation. 

  • “I love eating healthy foods.”
  • “I am making progress.”
  • “Today’s a new day to go for it.”

Write down a few key sayings that are meaningful to you on a 3 x 5 card.  Say these affirmations out loud every day after you brush your teeth or you’re putting your make up on. 

Be kind when you talk to others and to yourself too!
