Day 21 – Brown Bag It

brown-bags350Being frugal is a really good way to lose weight.  You might think we’re health nuts, but really my husband and I are often just too cheap to go out to eat.  For instance, when we go to the Zoo or an amusement park, we always pack our lunches because we think it’s highway robbery to pay $7.50 for a kids meal that consists of a hot dog, soda and chips. 

Watching us fly is pretty amusing.  We won’t pay for the airline food or the airport food, so when we travel from coast to coast, we’ve got so much food packed, we could survive for days on apples, cereal, sandwiches, cheese tortellini, grapes and more! 

Get into the habit of packing your lunch when you go out to the park so you won’t be tempted to stop by fast food when you’re stomach’s growling and your kids are crying.  Brown bag it at work.  You’ll spare yourself from the extra calories you’ll consume at a restaurant and you’ll save a lot of money in the process.  Find a few friends with similar values and brown bag it together. 

To me, the brown bag is always in style!
