Day 24 – Holidays, Company, and Other Inevitable Temptations

big-cake-400Just because you’re trying to lose weight doesn’t mean you don’t have a social life.  And having a social life (yes, it’s possible even as a mom) usually involves food. 

There are holidays, birthdays, family get togethers, company parties, business lunches – how does one navigate all these calories when trying to lose weight after baby?  Here are a few ideas: 

  1. Do 30-45 minutes of cardio when you know you’re going to eat a lot at an event.
  2. Eat a light lunch but don’t skip lunch all together (or else you might show up at the party famished and eat way too much as a result).
  3. Drink a glass of water before the meal.  It will make you feel fuller. 
  4. Focus on talking to people instead of the food.
