When you’re close to your goal weight, what do you do? Padlock the refrigerator? That could work but you could always escape and get take out!
When you’re just 5 pounds away, it’s easy to give up and just say, “That’s good enough!” And for many it really is. If you’re only 5 pounds from your goal weight, you’re probably at a healthy weight for your height (you can calculate your BMI here – the standard measure of body fat for your height and weight).
But for many of you – losing that last 5 pounds is attainable! There are a few things you won’t want to do like starve yourself. Skipping meals may seem like a good way to lose those last pregnancy pounds, but your body will think it’s in starvation mode and will hang on to that fat. Instead, try shaving off 500 calories a day (skip a 250 calorie snack and exercise off 250 calories). Switch your workouts – if you’re used to a spin class, try a kickboxing class. Go hiking instead of biking next time you’re out and about. Mix up your routine.
