Who Decides Your Weight Loss Fate

monkey-drawingA friend of my son’s gave him an adorable picture of a….what do you think it is?  I think it is a monkey.  I mean, look at that TAIL!

Well my son is convinced it is a bear.  He tells me over and over, “It is not a monkey.  It’s a bear. Just the tail is wrong, but the rest of the body is exactly like a bear.”

It reminded me of something I read in Dale Carnegie’s classic bestseller, How to Win Friends and Influence People.  He wrote something like “He who is convinced against his will, is of the same opinion still.” 

No matter how many times I try to convince my son that it’s a monkey, he still believes it is a bear. 

You know, it works the same with weight loss.  Someone (like me) can try to convince you to eat less and move more and lose weight, but unless you come to that conclusion yourself, it’s no use.  YOU have got to decide for yourself, with your own free will, before you will see lasting changes in your life.   No one else can convince you.  The ball is in your court!

You are right the decision has to be made by whoever that is wanting to loose weight, at the same time she will need friends and family to stay encouraged, it is truely a long journey but like your child it is all on the way you look at it, it could really be a bear or just a plain oh monkey. you can even remove the tail and make the legs and arms smaller then it becomes a bee.

    Mental change should always take effect before any other change. I challenge you to mentally see that picture as a lion, see if you can do it look at is hard enough and it will turn into anything you want it to be.

    1. Set your goals slowly. Get decrease in the range of 0.5kg to 1kg per week.
    2. Can take supplements such as Glutamine each day after exercise session.
    3. Reduce the intake of food or drink sweet (sugar content high).
    4. Just eat fruit instead.
    5. Drinks more mineral water and do not drink alcoholic beverages.
    6. Set the time you eat each day.
    7. Eat in the dining area and not in front of the tv.
    8. Familiarize themselves with the smaller plates when eating.
    9. Fill your days with doing certain activities to avoid fun thought of food.
    10. Make sure you get adequate rest. For example bedtime. Sleep in 6 to 8 hours a day.
