How to Use Your Laptop to Lose Weight

Hmmm…how can you use a laptop to lose weight?  After all, usually when using a laptop, you’re sitting still – not burning many calories at all.  You could hoist it over your head and use it like a free weight.  Or put it in your pantry to block the view to any tempting treats.

But I’m suggesting something different today.

If you’re a mom who likes to workout at home with an exercise DVD, why not take your laptop and move your workout to a different location at your house?  

I did this recently by bringing the laptop outside to my backyard.  It was 7:00 am, still cool and crisp, the sun was shining softly.  I put on the P90X DVD and worked out outside.  It was really fun.  It was a fresh environment that took the staleness out of working out in the same room every day.

Can you do this in your backyard?  How about a different room of your house?  Just by mixing up the location, you can refresh your workouts.   

Hey, you could even bring the laptop to a park and do your workout there…but you might want to bring a friend so you don’t feel too cheesy working out by yourself watching a DVD – ha!
